The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed the two HMPV cases in Karnataka through routine surveillance. While acknowledging these detections, the ICMR underscored the strength of the country's surveillance system and noted that there has been no significant rise in influenza-like illnesses or severe acute respiratory infections.
Meanwhile, China has dismissed concerns over the flu outbreak, asserting travel safety. India's health ministry maintains that the HMPV reports from China do not warrant alarm, and they are diligently monitoring the situation.
